I was recently in New York to attend The Next HOPE, the 8th
Hackers On Planet Earth conference. HOPE (Hackers On Planet Earth)
is a conference sponsored by 2600: The Hacker Quarterly.
While returning home from the event, I was thinking of a friend of mine who would have enjoyed the conference as much as I did.
So I sent her an email,
Ten Reasons Why You Should Attend HOPE:
1. NERDS, we <3 them
2. Interesting lectures, not just technical stuff
3. Hackers On Planet Earth care about human rights, as Saturday's Keynote Address was given by Jacob Appelbaum from Wikileaks
4. Federal agents come and sometimes… this happens
5. Art/tech/philosophy group monochrome
6. The ratio of women to men :)
7. BATTLESTAR GALACTICA references, they happen.
8. YOU WILL LEARN STUFF.
9. INTERNET MOTHERFUCKERY. Come for the lulz!
